    Top scorer in the last two seasons, Sean Jamieson departed the club in the close season, but in came Lee Currie and Stephen Tulloch from Berwick Rangers.

    Star started the season with a 1-0 win over reigned champions Kelty Hearts. Thoughts that a glorious season was ahead soon faded though as early season defeats to Bonnyrigg Rose, St Andrews United, Musselburgh Athletic and Sauchie Juniors left Star well off the pace.

    There was a titanic struggle with Petershill in the second round of the Scottish Junior Cup. After a 1-1 draw in Glasgow, the sides fought out a 2-2 draw at New Victoria Park. Eventually, Petershill triumphed 9-8 after penalties.

    There was a shock defeat to endure in the Fife & Lothians Cup going down to Fife side Thornton Hibs.

    The inconsistency in the league continued throughout the season. Whilst there were wins over Linlithgow Rose and Bo'ness United, there were defeats to Broughty Athletic and Tayport. On the back of a 6-1 win over Camelon Juniors, manager Alan Miller was dismissed. Star saw out the remainder of a disappointing season that had promised much, eventually finishing fifth in the league.

    As the season ended, Stevie McLeish was appointed the new manager.
