The History of Newtongrange Star
1914/15
FIRST WORLD WAR
Former Star player Sgt David Grieve of the Royal Scots was killed on 15th November 1914.

On the 26th November 1914 it was reported that Private William Clark of the Scots Guards, a Newtongrange Star committee member, had died on 8th November 1914 in Boulogne from wounds received at Ypres. He was aged 23.

Newtongrange Star have 13 players, with their president and several members of committee, along with 540 lads from the village, at present doing duty for their country.
